Overview

Stepping Stones of Rockford, Inc. provides premiere residential mental health services to those with serious, persistent mental illness. We are dedicated to helping our clients navigate potential stumbling blocks of mental illness, advancing toward recovery, one step at a time.

Our residents are not their diagnoses. We recognize the person, not the illness. The organization works to bust stigma, to make positive contribution in the community and to provide safe, affordable and decent housing ( 18 year olds and older). We validate that persons with serious mental illness have the right to a quality of life afforded by the least restrictive living environment. We are a part of our community. We are a family.

Mission

Our mission is: Improving Lives One Step at a Time. We live our mission every day of the year. We strive to help those we serve make improvements in their lives and we do it one step at a time. We work with our clients as they face the challenges of day-to-day recovery. We encourage them to develop who they are, to seek independence, and to build confidence as they live in the community.

Vision

Stepping Stones will build and maintain an organization that can continue our specialized work to provide a broad array of high-quality, cost-effective services which will enable us to try to serve those individuals with mental or emotional illnesses who have not been successfully served elsewhere.
