The committee, through inter agency networking, will work to empower young adults with disabilities to recognize and address their needs to assist in transition to their next phase of life.
Our Vision
To provide an avenue for students, parents, educators, and the community to promote, develop, and implement transitional service in Winnebago, Boone, and Ogle Counties.
Our Purpose
The committee operates as a forum for discussion, planning, promotion, and development of transitional service and programming.
Membership
Membership in the committee shall consist of agency staff, parents, educators, and community members who will be active participants in the TPC.
Our Goals
- Increase the awareness of available resources and community programming.
- Increase access to knowledge, skills and practices of transitioning students with disabilities from the educational setting to community.
- Increase awareness to parents and community in regards to disabilities and the needs of students.
- Encourage parents and the community to be proactive in regards to students and their needs for transition.
- Provide skill-training opportunities to students.
